Abstract
The main objective of the research proposed here is to examine at the molecular and cellular level the function of a gene family needed for cell cycle progress from START during G1 phase in budding yeast. In particular for each of the genes and gene products in this family, we will: (a) examine the mechanisms by which gene expression is regulated within the cell cycle; (b) monitor periodic changes in protein localisation, modification and function; and (c) identify and characterise other members of this gene family.
