Abstract
In this study we will investigate a novel global repression regulon (the RepE regulon) of Erwinia carotovora. This regulon includes the virulence factors of this potato pathogen. We will study the binding of RepE to its target sites (REB sites) and sequence novel genes downstream of the REB sites to identify the proteins of the global repression regulon. We will sequence the repE gene and identify the RepE protein in expression systems. We will analyse regulation of the repE gene using gene fusions.
