Abstract

The aims of this proposal are to establish a national 750 MHz NMR facility for collaborative research within the UK community and to provide improved NMR facilities in Cambridge. The Departments of Biochemistry and Chemistry have established, through the CCMR, a facility which plays a central role in providing structural information to underpin a wide variety of investigations of the functions and interactions of biomolecules. We have developed a coherent methodology for the acquisition, processing and assignment of multidimensional NMR spectra, extraction of structural restraints, calculation of structures and analysis of their dynamics. As a result of these efforts we believe we have the capability to support a highly productive, multi-user NMR centre.
