Abstract
The protein crystallography laboratory of Glasgow University has an active research programme in a number of areas, particularly in the structures of integral membrane proteins from photosynthetic bacteria. An image plate detector and crycooling system are needed urgently to provide X-ray diffraction facilities for the future research programme in this area and other areas.
