Abstract
The use of DNA microarrays has revolutionised the way we can examine the whole genome transcription. To complement this technique we propose developing a system of in vivo high resolution mapping of transcription factor binding-sites on a genome wide scale. We shall use a combination of formaldehyde cross-linking and chromatin immunopurification to identify binding sites on genome-scale DNA microarrays. The combination of transcription profiling and transcription factor binding-site mapping will provide an unparalleled view of how gene regulatory network function to control the development and differentiation of complex multicellular organisms.
