Abstract

This application is concerned with biomimetic molecular scaffolds as constructs for new analytical reagents. Interactive evolutionary computing methods have been used to design analytical reagents, compatible with amplified SPR, that may be expanded in a modular combinatorial fashion for creation of analytical arrays. The programme involves the synthesis of biomimetic recognition ligands linked to a novel SPR amplifier and their assembly and testing on SPR devices. Data from the ligands will be used to further optimise and evolve the design model, achieving compatibility between molecular recognition/transduction and instrument to produce some prototype designs for SPR sensor array systems.
