Abstract
A software package will be developed and experimentally verified which, using fluid dynamic models of animal cell/bubble/free surface interactions, can be applied to the prediction of cell damage in aerated animal cell bioreactors. The models will be based on measured fluid properties and on the characterisation by micromanipulation of the mechanical properties of the cells.
