Abstract

The aim of the proposal is to develop a multi-analyte sensor for the determination of water- borne pathogens. The project addresses two fundamental aspects in multi-analyte sensing, namely: (i) developing a suitable protein-patterning technology that will overcome problems associated with non-specific binding; and (ii) implementing dielectrophoresis for pre- concentrating organisms onto the sensor in order to attain high sensitivity detection. The immunosensor, which will be developed using surface plasmon resonance, will be based upon a flow through cell. The detailed design including choice of appropriate analytes, will be carried out in collaboration with Thames Water, Reading.
