Abstract

A research programme commenced at IGER in January 1992 under the AFRC CWIS scheme. The objective of this programme is to obtain fundamental knowledge of the genetic control of foliar senescence and to exploit this technology to produce grass varieties with new commercial and agronomic properties. The co-operating company, Germinal Holdings, wishes the work to be extended and has agreed a further financial contribution. The present application reports on progress to date and describes a proposed scheme of future work for which continuation of AFRC CWIS support on a matching funding basis is requested.
