Abstract

This application is for imaging equipment to expand and facilitate the research programmes of two major groups at Brookes who are using GFP to study protein targeting in plant and insect cells. The studies involve an investigation into protein targeting, mobility and transport through the plant secretory pathway and an in vivo study of the infection of insect cells by baculovirus and the expression of key viral proteins during this event. Equipment involved includes a confocal computer upgrade, ablation laser, fluorescence stereo- and inverted microscopes (for screening GFP expressing material).
