Abstract
The mobility of several cell surface receptors will be studied by single particle tracking (SPT) and fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP). The aim is to establish in each case whether a domain-hopping or anomalous diffusion model is an appropriate description of receptor movements. The relationship between SPT and FRAP will also be investigated. The study is fundamental to understanding functional processes which require receptor movement in the plane of the membrane.
