Abstract

To employ new and powerful techniques in image processing of single particles in cryo- electron microscopy to reconstruct a 3-D map of multi-subunit supercomplex of photosystem II at a resolution better than 10Angstroms. To use this map, coupled with other complementary studies involving mutants, to determine the position of subunits within, and on the surface of, the complex. To relate the structural information with the energy transfer, charge separation and water splitting functions of PSII.
