Abstract
To maintain an interdisciplinary centre of excellence to study photosystem two with the ultimate goal of describing this key part of oxygenic photosynthesis in atomic and molecular detail and in terms of rigorous physico-chemical principles. To relate new knowledge to the overall efficiency of this photosystem and the consequences to plant metabolism as a whole.
