Abstract

The objective of this study is to clarify the roles and regulation of mammalian beta spectrins. Their activities and regulation in relation to polarised cell types will be examined. Specific aims of this project will be as follows : 1. To investigate regulation of beta spectrin by regulated phosphorylation. 2. To investigate the nature of intracellular targeting information held in betaG and betaR spectrin. 3. To investigate tissue specific and generally expressed proteins that interact with the C-terminal region of the widely expressed betaG subunit.
