Abstract
To capitalise on our being the first group to clone the gene for a putative thylakoid processing peptidase by (i) looking at the distribution of the protein within the cyanobacterial cell, (ii) trying to clone genes for plant homologues to this and to SecA, which we have also cloned from cyanobacteria, (iii) investigating the function of a putative peptidase regulator protein whose gene we have cloned and (iv) looking for other genes in that map region. Priority of (i) - (iv) equal.
