Abstract
The aim of the project is to define the structures of the asparagine-linked carbohydrates of the normal and disease-associated forms of the murine prion protein by HPLC/mass spectrometry. These studies will provide the basic structural information to establish whether particular site-specific glycoforms are unique either to the disease-associated form of PrP (PrPSc) or to PrPSc induced by individual strains of the infectious agent.
