Abstract

We have developed a collective variable approach which allows us to rapidly build accurate, high resolution structures of double helical DNA. The aim is to develop tools to apply this method to the analysis of genome sequences. There are two aspects: to construct a database of the structural properties of all possible DNA decamers; and to develop similarity searching tools to analyse this database. This will enable us to uncover hidden patterns in genomic sequences which are encoded in the structural properties and to develop structural templates which can be used to search for specific properties in a given sequence.
