Abstract

This proposal seeks to meet the bioinformatic needs of the BBSRC PAGA grant holders working on farm animal genomes and livestock genome mappers worldwide. In order to meet these needs we propose to establish a bioinformatics resource centre for genome analysis in farm animals. The resources will encompass both the databases and the associated analytical and display tools required for genetic and physical mapping of the complex genomes of farm animals. The Internet and in particular the World Wide Web (WWW) will be used to deliver the resources to this user community. The proposed resources will be managed by a committee composed of the PAGA (animal) grant holders.
