Abstract
This project aims to address the growing problems associated with the rapid accumulation of sequence data, by producing a suite of novel tools for: 1) hierarchical clustering of databases, to improve database searching and provide seed alignments for generation of pattern databases. 2) interpreting and encoding the information contained within primary sequence annotations; 3) rapid pattern database curation, providing an annotated, diagnostic fingerprint resource for sequence analysis. (Joint with grant BIF08781).
