Abstract

The objectives of the project are to develop a course on bioinformatics to enable and facilitate research into the biological sciences by postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers. The course will be delivered in two forms. On two occasions a residential course of one weeks duration will be held in the University for a total of up to 24 participants on two occasions during the University vacations and also released in the form of CDs and a dedicated W3 server for access by distance learning. The distance learning option will be developed as a resource to be used on a fee-paying basis. The application relies on extensive experience by the applicants and researcher of a highly successful postgraduate bioinformatics degree scheme and previous BBSRC Summer Schools.
