Abstract

New spectrograph and detector technology will be incorporated into the second Glasgow ROA instrument which will then be dedicated to novel studies of the dynamic aspects of protein structure by measuring ROA spectra over the temperature range 0-80oC. Attempts will be made to detect and characterise tertiary folds in molten globule states, disorder-to-order transitions in native states, and nascent structure in unfolded states. The results will be used to enhance our understanding of protein folding and function.
