Abstract

To create various non-aggregating sub-assemblies of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, to study their catalytic and structural properties in comparison with the native complex, to identify the side chains involved in binding the peripheral (E3 and E1) subunits to the E3/E1- binding domain of the E2 core component, and to study the functional properties of a putative structural motif involved in binding TPP in the active site of the E1 component.
