The programme aims will be addressed through the application of state of the art functiona genomics technology to a range of specific projects concerned with identifying genes of economic or biological importance in farm animals species. Traits that will be addressed will include disease resistance, product quality, reproduction and development. This programme funds the management of the BBSRC-funded Collaborative Centre for Functional Genomics in Farm Animals established through the Investigating Gene Function (IGF) initiative (see 04.80.0844).
