Abstract

This project builds on a previous investigation (10780604) of behavioural, physiological and performance responses in stressed and undisturbed quail of genetic lines selected for: short (STI) or long (LTI) tonic immobility fear reactions; low (LBW) of high (HBW) body weight; and low (LSR) or high (HSR) social reinstatement behaviour. More specifically, it will examine the biology of and the inter-relationships between fear, adaptability, social discrimination and behaviour, aggressiveness, growth, cardiac damage, and stress-susceptibility in these selected lines.
