Abstract
Exploitation of genotyping technology for QTL detection in poultry requires the analysis of QTL-marker associations, development of techniques for fine-scale mapping, and support for applied studies of growth and reproductive traits in the Roslin broiler x layer cross. The research will contribute to the development of efficient analytical methods and to transfer of the technology to practical application. The work is essential underpinning for the poultry genetic research of the Institute and BBSRC.
