Abstract
This proposal concerns the coordination and management of a portfolio of research projects in genome research in pigs and cattle with an increasing emphasis on the genetics of host responses to infection. The aim of this research programme is to understand the genetic control of traits of economic and biological importance. Experimental work will be concerned with activities complementary to the externally funded research portfolio and on pilot studies on which to base new research grant applications.
