Abstract
The aim of the partnership is to develop professional training programmes to enhance the employability and entrepreneurship of research trainees in biotechnology. It will involve extensive dialogue between academia, research institutes and local bio-tech industries in Pretoria and Norwich. The socio-economic objective is to add value to primary products and resources in Southern Africa through the development of a skilled and motivated workforce. Capacity building through the development of appropriate training activities within HE and FE institutions is the most efficient way to achieve this strategic objective.
