Abstract

Gibberellin (GA) promotes plant growth by targetting the DELLA proteins, a family of growth-repressing nuclear transcription factors, for destruction by the proteasome. This proposal describes the use of both conventional mutant and RNAi-based analyses to (1) further characterise the role of targeted destruction of DELLA proteins in GA signalling, and (2) identify novel components in the GA signal- transduction cascade. These experiments will fundamentally enhance our understanding of how GA controls the growth of plants.
