Abstract
The objective of the Brassica IGF consortium is to physically map the Brassica A and C genomes. BAC contigs will be assembled by fingerprint analysis software and anchored to the Arabidopsis genomic sequence and Brassica genetic maps by hybridisation with selected probes. This project will supply bioinformatics support, including maintainenance and support of the Image and FPC applications and fingerprinting project databases at JIC and HRI, elaboration of the gene-specific probe set that will be used to anchor the assembled contigs to the Arabidopsis genome sequence, collection of the BAC hybridisation data and development of WWW resources.
