Abstract

To improve wheat transformation efficiencies and understand the relationships between the method of DNA delivery, construct architecture, transgene architecture and chromosomal position on the expression of individual transgenes in populations of transgenic wheat plants. Results Improvements to transformation protocols will be communicated to other laboratories and UK companies. Studies of transgene structure and cassette architecture will provide an insight into the way these parameters influence the stability of transgene expression between and within populations of wheat. The results should be equally applicable to other cereals.
