Abstract
To understand the relationship between the DNA structure, method of DNA delivery, construct architecture and gene architecture on the expression of individual transgenes in populations of transgenic barley and wheat plants. The results will provide a long overdue insight into the way construct and gene architecture influences the stability of transgene expression between and within populations of plants. The results should confirm the predictions relating to the three methods of construct delivery. Consequently, recommendations/guidelines on the construction of transgenes for the production of genetically modified plants will be able to be drawn up.
