Abstract
Ds transposons have been located to several positions on chromosome 4. These are close to or within regions being analysed in the genomic sequencing programme. This grant focuses on identifying transposon insertions within sequenced genes by the use of PCR. The function of the genes will then be assessed by determining whether the insertion causes a mutant phenotype.
