Abstract
The research has four main objectives: the phenotypic and molecular biological analysis of uncharacterized existing transgenic rice lines; the controlled testing of characterised resistant transgenic lines and evaluation of agronomic performance under African conditions; the RYMV sequence diversity study and the production and characterization of new lines with improved constructs.
