Abstract

A candidate gene controlling homoeologous and homologous pairing of wheat chromosomes will be identified by reconstructing the region of the wheat genome containing the pairing gene in the form of contiged rice YACs. Wheat populations segregating for high and low pairing will be used to further define a gene linked to the pairing phenotype.
