Abstract

Precise genetic stocks are being developed and screened at seedling and adult plant stage for resistance to Septoria tritici in wheat. Molecular markers are being assigned to resistance genes to ease their handling in segregating breeding populations. Particular attention is being paid to use precise race isolates in screening tests to detect for the first time race specific genes for Septoria tritici resistance.
