Abstract

Banana streak virus (BSV) is important to the subsistence banana growers in Uganda. The project is an adjunct to a DFID project on the epidemiology of BSV undertaken by the National Resources Institute. In this project strains of BSV from samples collected in Uganda will be characterised serologically and molecularly and probes for distinct strains will be produced for the NRI project.
