Abstract

The major objective of this project is to use approaches from cell biology genetics and molecular biology to understand cell signalling during root development. Three aspects of signalling are targeted: i) apical-basal signalling involved in the placement and function of the embryonic meristem; ii) radial signalling required to specify the number and position of cells in the meristem iii) circumferential and radial signalling used to specify the position and fate in the root epidermis.
