Abstract

The genome sequence of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2) will be completed at the Sanger Centre by the end of 2000. In order to make the sequence available in the most user-friendly form to the large community of users, industrial and academic, who work on this important model organism, the data are to be assembled into a database derived from ACE-DB, which was originally developed to handle the genome sequence of the work Caenorhabditis elegans. The new database will make it easy and quick for users to obtain a considerable range of information from the 8 million base pairs of sequence.
