Abstract

The overall goal of the TEGERM project is to improve the way that major EU germplasm collections are characterised and exploited to the benefit of European agriculture. This goal comprises two major objectives. The first of these is the detailed assessment of the genetic diversity of major EU and international germplasm collections for pea, barley, tomato and pepper. The second objective is to streamline the extraction of useful genetic traits, controlling quality and resistance to pathogens and stresses, into the corresponding EU breeding materials.
