Abstract
The JIC curates a national crop germplasm collection, which have hardly been applied to the benefit of either fundamental research or crop improvement. This project aims to develop a much greater exploitation of the collection, by taking advantage of JIC's strength in the genetics of both model organisms and crop species, and its growing investment in high throughput genomics. The intention is to develop and to apply genomic technologies to the Centre's crop genetic resources, to complement the seed collection with a variety of DNA-based data.
