Abstract
Carbohydrates are not only metabolites, they also play a central role as signal molecules, reporting on the flux of photosynthate between source and sink tissues, and regulating both photosynthetic activity and sink strength through control of gene expression. We are isolating transcription factors involved in this process and establishing their mode of action.
