Abstract
Isolation of promoters for genes encoding glycine decarboxylase from C3 and C3-C4 species of Moricandia, a close relative of Brassica crops. Study of regulation of promoter expression using reporter gene constructs. Study of C3-C4 Moricandia plants transformed to alter the gas exchange phenotype to C3. Objectives are based on understanding a character which may contribute to tolerance of reduced water availability and may be transferable to Brassica crop species.
