Abstract
Developments in map-based and transposon-assisted cloning are enabling the isolation of a number of plant disease resistant genes, primarily from model species. The project aims to apply this technology along with PCR-directed strategies to target genes encoding resistance to yellow rust, one of the major diseases of wheat in the UK.
