Abstract

The Jenner Influenza Fellow participates in Jenner Institute research programmes on influenza vaccine development, with a brief to maximize interactions between vaccine programmes at IAH and Oxford, and add value to both. In pursuit of these aims the Jenner Fellow will test vaccines that are in pre-clinical or clinical development in Oxford, and in chickens at IAH. The project seeks to develop AIV vaccines that produce robust and sustainable sterile cross species immunity that does not drive the virus to virulence or antigenic variation. This strategy is based on recombinant Ad5 and MVA vectors containing influenza NP+M1 as a fusion protein transgene.
