Abstract

To provide information on the validity of tests for detection of recent infection of cattle with SAT2 virus. This study is important since there is very little information of the validity of NSP tests to detect recent infection with SAT viruses, and on the comparative performance of tests including Rt-PCR for virus (probang samples), and antibody in serum and saliva in such animals, or indeed on any groups of naturally infection animals. Further the number of animals for which results are obtained should enable earlier achievement of the number of infected animals for which results have been obtained, as required by international criteria for validation of new tests.
