Abstract

The objectives of this EU project are to build a long-term sustainable network for the creation and dissemination of knowledge which will lead to (i) a better understanding and control of TSE in small ruminants; and (ii) an integration of research efforts at the European level. The project will consider the following areas of work: epidemiological surveillance of disease incidence using risk analysis and mathematical modelling; the transmission and maintenance of disease; the pathogenesis and development of diagnostic tests; development of control measures based on current technology.
