Abstract
Sheep will be challenged orally with scrapie or with BSE. In a sequential time point study, lymphoid tissues will be collected and examined by immunocytochemistry and by Western blotting for PrPsc accumulation. The aim is to identify a tissue which would be suitable for biopsy for a pre-clinical diagnosis of BSE in sheep based on the detection of PrPsc.
