Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy will be used to detect and follow disease progression in the TSEs. In this part of the study, the extent of neuronal loss in several murine scrapie models will be assessed using MR spectroscopy for NAA, a neuronal marker. The results will be correlated with PrPsc deposition using Western blots and ICC.
