Abstract
The IAH provides premises for the storage of European Union reserves of concentrated inactivated antigen. This antigen bank maintains their usefulness for the production of a safe and potent vaccine for emergency use with adequate records of the conditions under which the antigens are stored. This reserve also liaises with the Community Coordinating Institute regarding incoming batches of antigen, testing and replacement. Finally, the Bank ensures that this antigen is delivered to establishments designated for vaccine formulation, bottling and distribution when requested. It operates under strict conditions of hygiene and safety and provide insurance for the value of the antigens held.
