Abstract

Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is a major pathogen of poultry and exists as many serotypes which do not induce sufficient cross-protection. The objective is to replace a gene of infectious bronchitis virus with the corresponding gene from another strain/serotype of IBV by means of targeted homologous recombination. The purpose is to study the role of IBV proteins in pathogenicity and the induction of protective immune responses.
